Safeguarding
At Brudenell Safeguarding children is at the heart of everything we do and is always taken very seriously.
Safeguarding is;
- Protecting children from maltreatment.
- Preventing the impairment of their mental and physical health or development.
- Ensuring children grow up in safe, effective care circumstances.
- Taking action to enable all children to have the best possible outcomes.

Our Safeguarding Team
All staff are responsible for Safeguarding but the team of 4 staff work together to monitor any concerns raised and make sure children are getting the support required.
Safeguarding Governor
Colin Noble was a teacher and local and central government education adviser, and still works as a consultant specialising in wellbeing and raising boys’ achievement.
He attends the school regularly to get updates on incodents, check our single central record is up to date and monitors how children are supported.

Domestic Violence
Leeds DVA Notification Process Leeds Joint Agency Protocol for Domestic Violence and Abuse: School Notifications (DVA Notifications Process) has been established to support children who live in households where there are incidents of domestic violence and abuse. We know that children can be physically or emotionally harmed by being either present in the house at the time of the incident or directly witnessing an incident of domestic violence. The DVA Notification Process has been designed to provide confidential notification to schools regarding any incidents of domestic violence and abuse which occur within a child’s household that might have an impact on a child whilst they are in school. The process means that a DVA notification will come through to school and a member of the safeguarding team at Brudenell Primary School. This person will act in confidence to ensure that we as a school are supporting the child/children in their education and making provision for possible difficulties experienced by the incident.
